Website Overview
By default your site comes with a very clean, user friendly layout. You can easily change the design to a different look and feel by selecting a new design from our list of themes (see changing website design).
You can also order a design to be custom built just for you at an additional charge.
Website Header
In your header you have the website title which was chosen as you signed up for your site (and can easily be changed)
Under that is a catch phrase that can, of course, also be changed.
If desired, you can have us place a custom church logo in the header instead of your title for a small additional fee.
Pages
Your Website comes with 12 prebuilt pages. We have built these pages in accordance to the results of our extensive studies of hundreds of church websites from different denominations across the globe.
Each page has instructions that explain how it can be best used along with sample text to give you a visual example.
These instructions are meant to be loose guidelines for you as you create content for your website.
You can easily change the name of each page, erase a page, add as many new pages as you like, or temporarily hide a page from the public view so that it can be modified and re-published at a later date.
Blog
One of the most powerful tools on your website is your new blog which is titled “Pastor’s Blog” by default. A blog is an online journal. You can write journal or blog entries as often as you like. If you want, you can allow site visitors to post comments on your blog posts. This is an amazing way for you to share your ideas with the world, and then interact with readers through comments and even private email messages.
By default, all user comments must be approved by you before they show up on your website.
Sidebar
The sidebar of your website stays with you on every single page. By default it contains a search bar which visitors can use to search the content of your site, an events calendar, a link to an online bible, a section for your Meeting Schedule, a section for your address with a link to a map, and a section for your contact information.
Events Calendar
The events calendar (which can be removed if desired) shows you the current date in blue. If you have added an event (as I have here) it will show up in red. If you scroll over an event, its title will appear. If you click on the event, a description will be shown.
A larger version of this little calendar is found on the “Events Calendar” page. On both calendars you can easily scroll through the months.
Online Bible
The online Bible can be left as is, changed to link to a different online bible of your choice, or can be removed all together.
Other Sidebar Content
The sections for your Meeting Schedule, Church location, and Contact information can be easily edited or removed as you see fit.
Footer
The footer of your website contains a login link so that you can login to your website with your username and password to begin editing.
You can easily add additional content to your footer such as copyright information if you choose to add it.
And that’s a basic overview of your brand new website!
